Rooted in the Florida Panhandle, the Kent Smith Group was formed in 2023 by Carol L. Kent and Adam C. Smith as a Limited Liability Company. Kent Smith Group, LLC is a Small Business Administration-approved Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).

With more than 30 years of experience in communications, marketing, consulting, public information, and public relations, Ms. Kent's accomplishments include Congressional recognition for her performance of vital crisis communications during Hurricane Michael and numerous top-ranking recognitions from both the Florida and Georgia Press Associations. She has also led and supported branding and marketing campaigns at both the local and state levels in Florida, as well as in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Mr. Smith has nearly 30 years of civil engineering construction experience, having served in varying levels of the corporate structure, managing large key infrastructure projects across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Mr. Smith's experience includes inspection team management, as well as serving on design-build teams in both contractor and designer support roles, CM-at-risk, and GEC contracts for municipal services. As a previous member of the FDOT District 3 Operations Final Estimates Team, his knowledge of FDOT standards and specifications, contract interpretation, change order procedures, claims reviews, and plan constructability reviews are significant.
