work alongside our technical experts while assisting resident engineers and project administrators in completion of inspection work in accordance with projects and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor on-site construction activities
Inspect materials in accordance with the client's scope of services (plans, specifications, and special provisions)
Transport samples to be tested in a Department laboratory or appropriate facility
Maintain detailed accurate records of daily operations and significant events
Prepare daily inspection reports
Monitor and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control (in accordance with the client's requirements)
Perform inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures
Perform material testing and verifies that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures
Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measures quantities of materials placed
May be required to perform sampling and/or in‐place testing of soil,
aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement
Fulfill other duties as needed
Required Experience & Certifications
At least 2 years for Inspectors and 4 years for Senior Inspectors in CEI experience in roadway or bridge projects
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Valid State’s driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check

CEI Inspector Aide
is an entry-level position that can kickstart a career into the CEI field. This role involves assisting higher level Inspectors in overseeing the contractor's on-site construction activities and inspecting materials to verify adherence to plans, specifications, and other contractual documents. The preferred candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, collaborative teamwork, and exhibit qualities such as enthusiasm, motivation, honesty, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out daily inspection tasks as part of training, preparing to take on inspector responsibilities.
Undergoing on-the-job and required agency classroom training to achieve necessary certifications.
Observing and documenting the progression of civil infrastructure construction projects, including roads, bridges, and stormwater systems.
Performing sampling and testing of materials and completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
Keeping detailed records of the contractor's daily activities, including manpower, equipment usage, construction methods, and events affecting the work.
Monitoring work zone traffic control plan for effectiveness, identifying and addressing discrepancies and potential issues promptly.
Required Skills, Abilities, & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Obtain necessary certifications and successfully pass qualification tests relevant to the position within specified time frames.
Basic Mathematical Skills
Able to work with an iPad and work with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Grant Writer Duties and Responsibilities
An effective Grant Writer should have excellent research and communication skills. They should be able to clearly communicate in both written and verbal communication, especially in grant proposals, as this is their primary duty. Key Responsibilities

Liaison & Communication: Serve as a primary contact for contractors, project managers, and internal teams, facilitating information exchange and resolving issues.
Documentation Management: Oversee collection, storage, and retrieval of project documents, ensuring adherence to records retention policies.
Financial & Payment Support: Manage consultant contract payments, track budgets, and assist in preparing supplemental agreements and change orders.
Compliance: Ensure contract compliance with FDOT procedures, federal regulations, and proper funding use.
Reporting: Prepare reports, correspondence, and project documentation, including meeting minutes and action items.
Technical Support: Provide support for documentation, process workflows, and potentially basic on-site engineering issues.
